Hi. I’m Krissy. I’m a fontaholic. I notice fonts on billboards. I can name fonts in commercials. I just don’t think you can ever have too many. I have over 2,000 fonts installed on my computer. Fonts are a lot of fun in the classroom, too. Visual learners can suddenly take a little more delight in writing.
Fonts are the gift that keep on giving. Here are my five favorite places to hunt for fonts…
Kimberly Geswein [http://www.kimberlygeswein.com/] My current favorite and my most used fonts are all made by Kimberly Geswein. She is AMAZING! Check out her collection and if you like them, she has a convenient buttom at the top that says “Download All Fonts.” That’s right, you can get the ENTIRE collection at once and install it. I also “Liked” her page on Facebook so I could see new fonts right away.
Dafont [http://www.dafont.com/] My go-to site when I am looking for a specific style. Easy to navigate and search.
FontSquirrel [http://www.fontsquirrel.com/home] Many Commercial Free Options if you need any for commercial use. A variety to choose from.
LostType: [http://losttype.com/] Maybe it’s the site layout, but it’s delightfully fontastic!
Fonts For Peas [http://kevinandamanda.com/fonts/fontsforpeas/] An amazing collection of handwriting fonts in every style you could ever want. Check out Amanda Bottoms font collection.
Font Space: [http://www.fontspace.com/] Another big collection. Be wary of lots of “Download” buttons in ads all over this site. The download button for the font is usually right under the photos of the font style.
Urban Fonts [http://www.urbanfonts.com/] A fresh collection of over 8,000 fonts.
Enjoy! And if you, too, become a fontaholic, don’t say I didn’t warn you…
Please remember, if you plan to resell your designs in a teacher shop, or in another format, many fonts have a commercial fee. Be respectful of the designers that work hard to create their fonts. Every font you download was handcreated by a person.
