Do you spend more time encouraging kids to think outside the box, or forcing kids to color inside the lines? Do you ask questions or listen carefully as kids formulate their own questions? Do you hand kids things to fill out, or do you provide kids the space to create and produce? Does an “A” in your class represent the highest level of growth, or does it represent “knowing stuff already.” If your teaching the focus in the room, or is the learning in the spotlight? Does passion have a place in your curriculum? Or is your curriculum someone else’s idea of stuff kids should know? Is learning about the real world in a text book, or is learning about the real world outside your classroom window?
