Throughout the end of the school year, students worked on our NASA Microgravity Experiment. In July, I’ll be flying the experiment on the NASA ZeroG plane with my awesome team of teachers from around the US. [I wrote about this once before right here.] One of the coolest parts of this whole experience is just how motivated the kids were to investigate, explore, design, and problem solve. They were involved every step of the way from developing procedures, to designing equipment, and even having input on our final mission patch. I’m incredibly proud of the hard work they put in and was not at all surprised how engaged every single kid was. After all, when the learning is real, relevant, and builds on a relationship? Engagement happens. No, we can’t fly EVERYTHING we do in a NASA aircraft. But these are the types of experiences we need to inspire our kids with.
Watch our video… feel the excitement. THAT? It’s STEM, all the way.
