At ISTE, I was lucky enough to run into the Remind team (formerly Remind101). I’ve been a long time fan of their awesomeness, and they’ve recently upgraded and are better than ever. You can use Remind to set up an easy way for your parents, students, or even staff to receive text messages. Schedule texts or even send out announcements. It’s an easy way to keep people up to date. A recent added feature is knowing who has viewed your attachment. That class newsletter? That staff memo? See who may have missed it. It’s a great tool for our busy world to stay connected to what’s happening. It could also be used to notify staff of inclement weather, cancellations, staff meeting reminders, or even just a positive note to start off Monday morning.
Then it struck me. Remind would be perfect to allow people to subscribe to our daily photo assignments in the Edugood project. It’s so easy to forget the daily photo topic, get busy and lose the list, but now? You’ll have a daily REMINDer to see the good. Each day at 9am, in your timezone, you’ll receive a text with the photo theme for the day. On the last day of the month, you’ll receive the new calendar for the next month so you can save it to your phone. It’s that easy. Subscribe. We’ll REMIND. You’ll look for the good around you. You can check out easy to set up instructions >>right here<< or just visit this link https://www.remind.com/join/edugood and take care of it right now.
ABOUT EDUGOOD
See The Good: A 365 Photo Project
Our Flickr Group The details? We’re on a mission to see the good. When we keep our eyes focused on the good, our lives become good. So, if we focus on the good in our schools, our teaching will become even better. No, it doesn’t make everything perfect, or even easy, but it makes us appreciate the little things that matter. This project is now in it’s second year, thanks to some supportive friends who, through the beauty of Twitter and Google Docs, have connected to share and collaborate. Collaboration? That’s just one more GOOD thing in education. It’s #edugood.
The rules?
Take a photo a day. Something you notice good around you or something from the monthly suggestion list. Get creative in your interpretation of each topic. We’ll update the Flickr group each month and right here with a new list.
Want a daily Remind? Visit Remind at https://www.remind.com/join/edugood and subscribe to a text message that will be sent at 9am each day to REMIND you to see the good. Are you an Instagrammer? Share your photos with the hashtag #edugood. The photos will are streamed live on our Tumblr each day, thanks to IFTTT.
